I AM JESUS CHRIST is an interesting game, to say the least. Between the historical events, religion-based quests, and the ability to parkour around Jerusalem, the game gives players a unique opportunity to play as Jesus Christ. That said, it also includes some less realistic mechanics, such as jumping from rooftop to rooftop or pulling off a “360 no-spear/no-scope” from elevated areas. These moments add some humor and unexpected fun, even if they feel a little out of place.

I would have liked to see actual voice actors used for more of the characters. As you complete quests and speak with NPCs, many of the voices sound robotic and lack emotion. Including stronger voice performances, at least for the main characters portrayed in I AM JESUS CHRIST, would have helped improve the dialogue and overall storytelling.

The graphics remind me somewhat of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, though with less environmental texture detail. They are not the worst visuals, but they are not especially impressive either. That said, some areas do look solid, especially when it comes to the lighting and color work.

I AM JESUS CHRIST still needs some reworking, particularly with its character voices, AI, and overall polish. Some graphical improvements could also help the game run and look smoother. The game sells for $14.99 on Steam, but personally, I would value it closer to the $10 range. Still, if you are looking for a comfy game with a theological focus and storyline, I would recommend I AM JESUS CHRIST. It is not something I would typically play, but I still enjoyed some of its smaller moments, from parkouring around Jerusalem to taking a ride on a historical hellcat/donkey.
